WHAT IS GORE-TEX, GORE-TEX INFINIUM™?
GORE-TEX, GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ focuses on insulation, comfort and function. GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ is am membrane that protect your body from the cooling wind, the so-called windchill effect. The wind density of the textile is measured by the amount of air that passes through the material in litres per square metre and per second. Because even on sunny days, the wind can be quite uncomfortable and cause your body temperature to drop quickly. However, if you do start to sweat, the membrane ensures that the sweat is quickly wicked to the outside. The resulting water vapour can escape through the billion of pores.
The membrane has also a water-beading function. That does not mean that GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ apparel are fully waterproof, but they can easily withstand light shower. Some GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ jackets are insulated to keep you warm and comfortable for longer. This highly functional technology is not only found in jackets and pants, but also in gloves and shoes.
